What I Had for Dinner

Another new thing I wanna display. I have the weirdest variety of food for dinner. Well, it's kinda expected...being asian and all...

OK, then. I had seafood today!
What kind?
Crawfish (i didnt eat that, but my mom did)

SQUID. I hate the smell when it's boiled, so I had mine baked!

Mussels. Well, my mom made soup with it, so it was tolerable.

Um, these are mushrooms. We steamed them and ate them, one for each person (me, mom, and dad!)

Told you that they were mushrooms!

I had nutella and bread for dessert. I LOVE nutella!

Pretty weird stuff, huh? I know, I know...I have this weird stuff everyday. Usually, if I eat outside, I have okay food. Usually, if there's nothing...edible...to eat, I eat cereal or snacks or hotpockets. Sometimes, I have Thai ramen.

OMH. (oh my home!)--Deco Edition (things that hang down & where I live)

My other backyard is literally the mountains. I live at the foot of them.

See! My house is blocked by rose bushes!

Okay, this bird always comes at around sunset...every year...for almost every day until summer...

I dont think he ever leaves his spot...
My grandpa got these from Texas for like $200!

If you're tall, dont come to my house. This thing is right in the middle of the hallway!
I have alot of cool windchimes. But, its always windy where I live, so they jingle like crazy. I never sleep because its too loud.
This is actually a plant holder. It's made of shells. Most of my windchimes are made of shells and are from Thailand. They're bought from the beachy locations.

Plant-Shell Holder again.

This one's my favorite. It's loud as hell, though, when it's really windy

OMH. (oh my home!)--Flowers Edition (garden)

FINALLY, the end of the garden edition!
Ah, the distinguishable plant that almost every Thai house has to have: the crown of thorns plant. My mom has alot, but right now, they're not in bloom--they're still suffering the winter effects.

DOOD! These things are like poison ivy! You've gotta be careful! They cause skin irritation!

And, they cause skin irritation because of those thorn-like daggers! D:<

I think of Disneyland when I see these flowers

They're actually not flowers, but a weed...'tis a shame...

CHERRY TREE.

CHERRY TREE. just wait till summer edition: i'll upload hibiscuses, plums, peaches, cherries...the whole nine yards...

Ah, the onions (or leeks...)

I thought it was pretty funny that my mom jacked this shopping cart to help her weed the garden.

This is my passion fruit vine. It used to be GIGANTIC, but we trimmed it down. It never gave us fruit, but the flowers are pretty. But, it does attract alot of these nasty little hairy bugs.

Mint herb. We use it for salads, instead of basil because it's very hard to grow our holy basil (no, thats the name of it) without a certain amount of humidity.

Some kind of chili plant...its chilis looks like tomatoes

I think this is an Aloe Vera plant...

Another type of jasmine. Thai ppl like jasmine not only for the smell, but it's kinda a custom. We like to make garlands for blessings and whatnot with jasmine buds.

Loquat Tree! We have a kumquat tree somewhere...

Loquat tree. I dont think we'll have much loquats this year, but we'll see in the summer.

this is the jasmine vine from the other day's post. See? It writhes around my tree...

I never have to buy a Christmas tree; I always decorate this look a like.

More crown of thorns.

This is a flower from that onion-leek type plant. Honestly, the onion smell is worse than the original onion smell, but it tastes really sweet, for some reason...

Full shot

This is that chili-tomato plant I ranted on about earlier...

A dying Thai chili plant planted with one of the biggest pot of crown of thorns we have.

OMH. (oh my home!)--Flowers Edition (back garden)

awkward lemons. the whole tree has no leaves, but has lemons...

Withering Lemon Grass: commonly found in most of Thai dishes, as well. It's a very fragrant kind of smell once chewed on. It helps with sore throats. We raise alot of these and we have a separate property just used to raise this. It's also very hard to find in the markets, nowadays.

The back

Sakura--Japanese Blossom Tree. In February, my whole house was just enshrouded in this snow storm of pink petals...
Grapefruit

Oranges

They're a hybrid between lemons and oranges

More African Daisies

More African Daisies, again

Rose bush

Hibiscus dormant plant...I can't wait until summer. They bloom beautifully. (i have all sorts of colors: yellows, purples, reds, whites, pinks...)

Carnations

This is that rose that changes from yellow to orange to red!

Kaffir Lime Leaves--mostly found in lots of Thai foods. It's being banned, so its hard to get it in the US because it's very hard to maintain. It gives off a very...pungent kind of acidic smell, and it does have lemons. It's leaves are commonly the part being used--especially in soups and curries

Well, Hello There!

i fit the asian stereotypes while being a hi-pro hipster myself. artist, writer, college-goer, penniless FOB stuck in the middle of the So-Cal desert (no, jk). working on that hush hush pre-med. about dat disney life.
